Have you ever noticed how much a person’s personality can change when they are in love?
I have noticed this with female friends and coworkers through the years. Women tend to become more giddy and preoccupied. When there are wedding event plans in the air women seemed to think or talk about nothing else.
A coworker of mine that is quite a bit younger is getting married. There were four of us sitting at a table eating lunch when she begins talking about an idea that had just occurred to her for her wedding reception. The conversation that had been going on had nothing to do with what she blurted out. It was oblivious that the only thing that was occupying her mind was her wedding plans.
Do I Have Ideas For Unique Wedding Invitations?
My son and his fiancé are also planning their wedding. I never would have thought that my son would become as involved as he is. The other day he came over to our house and asked me if I had any ideas for unique wedding invitations.
He said that he and his fiancé have been asked to several weddings over the past few months. He said that most of the invitations are very similar. He wanted unique wedding invitations that people would notice.
I told him that invitations for wedding ceremonies, like most cards, are discarded by the recipients. People may notice the unique wedding invitations when they open the card, but they will quickly forget them soon after the wedding.
I suggested that they put their money and time into some part of the ceremony that is going to have a longer lasting effect than the wedding invitations.
At first my husband thought I was teasing him. He could not believe that our son was taking part in any of the wedding plans. My husband admitted that he would not have been able to remember what our invitation looked like. I pretended to be hurt that he had forgotten this; however he knew I was faking.
I had to admit to him that I have no idea what our invitations looked like. I am sure there is one in a box some place with other memorabilia.
Does It Really Matter If Your Wedding Invitations Are Unique?
My husband was going to call our son and assure him that no matter what they choose as a card inviting people to the wedding, no one is going to remember it in the future.
I am convinced that my future daughter-in-law is the right person for my son. He seems very happy and more mature since he has been with her. And, after all, the marriage is much more important than designing an unusual wedding invitation, don't you agree?
