Wedding outdoors

Who says a wedding ceremony has to be held inside or in a church. Although both are nice an outdoor wedding will give you all the space you need for the family of the bride and groom.

Exactly What You Get with an Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

Need Space? Try the Great Outdoors for Your Wedding Ceremony

Romance and Fairy Tales for the New Bride

Ahhh ... To be in the great outdoors!! Many brides dream of having a fairy tale wedding in a picturesque location, perhaps on the beach or overlooking beautiful countryside.

An outdoor wedding definitely sounds appealing and can be absolutely beautiful. If and when you decide that you are definitely going to have an outdoor wedding, there are some important things to keep in mind when making your plans.

The Outdoor Wedding Challenges

Many couples love the idea of getting married outdoors. While outdoor weddings can be magical and absolutely beautiful, they might be harder to plan than an indoor event.

There are many factors to keep in mind when planning a marriage ceremony outside Always think about every possible option and you will (hopefully) be prepared if anything out of the ordinary happens.

No Heating or Air or Roof or Lights at an Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

The weather is not predictable and could turn out to be your worst enemy on your wedding day.

The spring day that you envision being warm and sunny could turn out to be a rainy and cold mess.

Just because you’re having a spring, summer or fall wedding doesn’t guarantee that the weather will be seasonable for that day. There is nothing worse than having a back-up plan for needing last minute changes or not being prepared properly for an outside wedding.

Have a Backup Plan

When you are planning the wedding and have thought about what the ideal weather will be, you need to start planning a last minute plan as well. If you wake up to a rainy day, have an indoor location ready just in case.

Perhaps you can have canopies or tents rented just in case. If it is uncomfortably hot and in the middle of summer, make your guests a bit more comfortable by getting married in the coolest hours of the day.

Prepare for a "Good" or "Bad" Wedding Day

Have a tent for mingling guests to remain cooler. Perhaps have bottles of cold water for guests as well. For windy days, make sure that things are secured and strapped down. You certainly don’t need things flying away in the middle of your ceremony. Somehow, that would just ruin the mood.

Your Personal Appearance

Plus, let your hair stylist know that you need your hair to be styled accordingly for an outdoor wedding. At least then you’ll know that you won’t be battling with having a bad hair day on this momentous occasion.

Did You Remember to Invite the Insects to Your Outdoor Wedding?

Being outdoors means dealing with bugs. Even on the beach, some pesky insects can find you. There are some ways to fend off bugs, and I’d recommend using some of them. Candles that have citronella could be decorated and used as centerpieces or scattered around where guests will be.

A bug zapper might not sound appealing, but could prove quite necessary. Though it might be difficult to ignore the sound of insect executions when exchanging vows.

Tell the Family and Guests!

Most importantly, let your guests know if it will be an outdoor wedding. That way, they can plan accordingly. They’ll dress for the weather and the occasion, which is much more ideal than having them show up and be incredibly uncomfortable.

Even though your wedding day is about you and what makes you happy, remember to focus on your guests too. The more comfortable you make them feel, the happier the memories will be for them.

So, if you plan to have your wedding outdoors just remember the tips above and be prepared for whatever mother nature throws at you. Plan for the best and worst and you should have a wonderful day!
