I may just not get it since I am a guy, but what is the point of a bridal shower and a bachelorette party? Do the ppl give gifts at the shower like a baby shower? then why would they need to have a shower if they are giving gifts at the wedding? Or is it just an interchangable thing?

So the shower is for one of my friends who I was VERY close to for many years, but we now we are no where near as close since i moved away for college. The couple has already lived together for about a year, and they didn’t ask for gifts for their wedding. The bridal shower invites were sent through facebook, with no theme or any other indications… What would be appropriate to gift in this case?! HELP!

My friend is getting married March 13th, when would be a good time to throw her bridal shower? I was planning February something, but then thought maybe it should be a little sooner. What do you think? Are bridal showers usually a month before the wedding? Also, what day is good for a shower. When you go to bridal showers, do you prefer them to be Friday evening, Saturday morning, or Sunday afternoon?

My wedding is in early August and I want to have my bridal shower at the end of April. Is that too soon. When should i have it? Are bridal showers and wedding showers the same thing? I dont know how these things work, help me out a little. Its my first time.Is there a rule to these things?

My fiance and I are planning a small, private ceremony this January which will only include the 2 of us, and both sets of parents. Then, we want to have a big celebration reception back home in late May (once our grad school semesters are over). It is now nearly September and I have 3 people who want to collectively throw me a bridal shower. Must it take place before the destination wedding ceremony, or could it be held inbetween the destination wedding and the reception? Any advice from wedding etiquette experts would be greatly appreciated.

My friend’s bridal shower is this weekend and Im clueless on what to get for her. She already has her own home and everything she needs, the girl has everything. I hate just giving her a gift card, I want to give her something really nice because Ive known her for almost 20 years! My future sister in law’s Bridal shower is in a couple of weeks. I’m not sure what to get her. She is in her early 20′s, and pretty conservative. Any ideas would be helpful?

I am having my wedding in California and most of my guests and wedding party will be coming in from out of town and from different places. I don’t have the option of holding multiple bridal showers -not enough people in any one location and who would be hosting?

My friend is getting married soon, and today I just got an invite to her bridal shower. It’s an afternoon event in a park. (so nothing wild)

The invite says they are registered at Target and a local bridal shop (unfortunately I’m out of state till the event).

But do people use the same registry for both? Because it was like all household items on the registry…
