I’m planning to go out an visit my Mom for a week shop for my wedding gown. We’re planning to make appointments at bridal shops on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then go to the Filene’s Basement bridal sale in Boston on Friday (no advice on this particular event please, I’ll make another post for that.) Originally we were planning one appointment per day, but now my Mom is asking if I want to visit more shops than that. How many is too many? Will I get exhausted if I do too many in such a short time? How many stores did you go to?

ok, so honestly i havent tried on a single dress yes other than my mom’s old one (which was just icky and from the 70′s) but my main concern is that i’m worried i’m going to have problems with them fitting in the bust. i’ve got a really small top. like aa-a on a good day. i REALLY love all the strapless ones i’m seeing, but i’m figuring i’m going to have to opt for a halter style. my question is tho, if i get it altered to fit, a strapless that is, will it stay up? i’ve never worn anything strapless in my life, but then again i’ve never had anything altered to fit my body.
and will i have to worry about the top sliding down when i sit for dinner? i figured there must be someone out here who’s tiny on top and still went for the strapless. any help is welcome tho. i know i need to try them on to get a real feel for it, but my wedding isnt for 18 months so i havent started on that part yet.

I am driving about 3 hours to go to some nice bridal shoppes, but I have never done this before!

Am I supposed to bring anything? I have some pictures of the type of gown I want but is there anything else that I should have?

What should I expect? We have 2 appointments set one in the am and then one in the pm. My mom and sisters are going with me.

What are your experiences? What do you wish you would have known prior to your appointments?

My mom and I are trying to put together a menu for an hors douvers reception for my wedding. What are some good recipes that can be used? Any ideas?

I am planning a bridal shower for myself with my mom and close friends. We want to have an outdoor come and go shower at our local park. The shower will be sometime in July, so it will be very hot. Is it weird to have a come and go shower on a Friday night, instead of the Saturday or Sunday traditional showers? Would it be weird if I have fruit and dip, chips and dip, and lunchmeat sandwiches for the guests? We will also have a cake, is it ok if we just make one? We have the napkins and plates already, they are awesome daisy patterned. What kind of decorations do I need? Do I have to give every guest a favor for coming to the shower? Is this all a bad idea? Should I do the traditional way and have it the normal, standard way of being on a Sunday, serving nuts and punch, and ordering a bridal shower cake? Help everyone, I don’t want to look stupid.
